Global Adapt’s mission is to help MKs, other Cross-Cultural Kids and their families understand their unique cross-cultural upbringing and how it impacts their lives, prepare them to confidently face the unusual challenges that arise when they transition and adapt to their “home” country, shine a light on the distinctive blessings that result from their lifestyles, and help them recognize God’s love, faithfulness and joy throughout this journey.

Steve Snyder’s conference and retreat presentations for MKs and other CCKs include:

*  The TCK:  What it means to be a TCK/CCK (third culture kid / cross-culture kid), how that is similar to and different from other lifestyle scenarios (such as that of their parents) and how this impacts who they are.

*  Mobility & Relationships:  How high mobility, theirs and that of others around them (such as other MKs and other CCKs), impacts their cultural identity and development and how a TCK lifestyle impacts relational patterns and adjustments, both negative and positive.

*  Pro's and Con's:  Identifying the corresponding benefits and challenges of being an MK/CCK and training the MK and other CCKs to recognize and appreciate the larger and positive context of circumstances and situations they will experience as they mature into adults.

*  Transition & Reentry:  How to successfully adapt between the “host” and "home" cultures, including practical guidance on constructive farewells, development of realistic expectations, methods and concepts for adapting and succeeding in the new cultural context and a valuable look at grieving as it relates to losses of home, identity, culture and personal outward stability.

*  The Blessing:  Insight and direction for enhancing the MK/CCK journey, enriching the experience, and maximizing the rare opportunity to grow up in such a wonderfully unique cross-cultural lifestyle.  The objectives of “The Blessing” include strengthening family relationships while seeking to draw MKs/CCKs into a more real and personal relationship with the Lord who has called them to such unique lives.

Steve Snyder’s conference and retreat presentations for MK parents and others who work with and care for MKs include but are not limited to:

*  Who IS that Kid?  What it means to be a TCK/CCK and how that shapes, molds and impacts key areas of such a young person’s development, identity, relationships and perception of God.

*  Transition & Reentry – for the Parents:  Understanding the MK/CCK perspective and preparing for successful cross-cultural transitions.

*  MK Myths:  How MKs are impacted by their perception of God, the culture of the mission organization, the parents’ work and relationships within the MK home, capped off by an examination of keys to success in raising the MK.
